When Carl Kreider, a long time bike club member retired, he was looking for a project to help fill his time. He had always like the '57 Ford Fairlane Retractable and decided to restore one. He found one that could charitably be called a junker and set about restoring it.

Six years and three months later, he proudly showed his work to the club. On July 6, at the Wednesday Brunch ride, Carl invited all who were there to his house to see the fruits of his labor. When we got to his house, Carl had champagne for a toast and drove us all to breakfast in his "new" car.
