STARTING POINT: Millersville University of Pennsylvania, Gordinier Hall, North George and Frederick Streets. DESCRIPTION: The Long Lititz Loop starts on the campus of Millersville University and heads north through rolling farmland and rural residential areas to Lititz Springs Park, the mid-point of the ride. Lititz has a chocolate factory and pretzel bakery where you can witness hand-twisting of pretzels. The return trip takes you a little east and then south back to Millersville. There are several moderate hills and one especially steep downhill on Log Cabin Road. Eating places can be found in Lititz and at the 40- mile point along Route 462. POINTS OF INTEREST: A. Millersville University, Ganser Gallery (717) 872-3298. No Admission Charge. Continuing exhibits of nationally known artists' paintings, sculpture, crafts and memorabilia, usually with cultural and social significance. Open: October 15 through May 15, Sunday through Friday. Location: George and Frederick Streets, Millersville, PA 17551 B. Lititz Springs Park No Admission Charge. The park is located at the headwaters of the Lititz Creek. The first use of the area for recreation dates back to 1778 when it was used during the summer of that year by convalescing Revolutionary War soldiers who were patients in a hospital located near the Moravian Church of Lititz. Open: Year round. Location: At the corner of Broad and Main Streets at the square in Lititz, PA. C. Candy Americana Museum (717) 626-1131. No Admission Charge. All phases of the candy industry, including manufacturing, packaging and advertising are featured in the Wilbur Chocolate Company's museum. A candy kitchen, circa 1900, and an outlet store are included. Open: Year round. Monday through Saturday. Location: 48 North Broad Street, Lititz, PA 17543. D. Sturgis Pretzel House (717) 626-4354. Admission Charge. The first commercial pretzel bakery opened in this location in 1861. A guided tour shows early equipment and methods of pretzel making. Visitors are encouraged to twist their own pretzel. Open: Year round, Monday through Saturday. Location: 219 East Main Street, Lititz, PA 17543. E. Linden Hall (717) 626-8512. No Admission Charge. Linden Hall is a girls' boarding and day college-preparatory school with grades 8 to 12. The enrollment is about 121. It was founded in 1746 by members of the Moravian Church. Linden Hall is the oldest girls' boarding school in the United States. The campus is 46 wooded acres. Location: The campus entrance is off East Main Street (Route 772), two blocks east of Broad Street. F. Log Cabin Covered Bridge G. Pinetown Covered Bridge H.
