Undiscovered Amish Ride Description

DISTANCE: 84 miles. Difficulty: A.

STARTING POINT: Gordinier Hall, Millersville University. Millersville, PA

DESCRIPTION: This very scenic and hilly ride will take you to the southern end of Lancaster County. This ride traverses many rural roads with no shoulders. In addition, the ride crosses a number of heavily travelled roads. Given this and the 6,000 feet of climbing, this ride is recommended for experienced cyclists. For those who try it, however, the vistas of bucolic farmland will be more than ample reward. A number of rural general stores along the route may or may not be open depending on the day and time of year. The cyclist is advised to take along sufficient food to last the 83 miles. The cyclist is also advised to stop in Susquehannock State Park for restrooms and water. Large water bottles are suggested for this ride.
